Maiori

Rome was incredible. Awesome. Amazing. Beautiful. Delicious. Marvelous. Historical. Massive. We had a great time in Rome and I know we will be back. However Max isn't huge on tourist things. He loved the food and the hotel, but most of the time he was just so HOT. No amount of gelato could cool this kid down.
Which was perfect, since the rest of our holiday was spent relaxing on the Amalfi Coast. We had a rooftop pool at the hotel and beachside views. We split our time evenly between the pool and the beach and Max was a million times happier, and cooler.
Plus, getting there was super exciting for him as well: we rode a train, saw a volcano, and had an airconditioned car ride to our hotel....and a nap. Awww.

This will make sense to some....had to.
"So I'm repelling down Mount Vesuvius when suddenly I slip, and I start to fall. Just falling, ahh ahh, I'll never forget the terror. When suddenly I realize "Holy s***, Hansel, haven't you been smoking Peyote for six straight days, and couldn't some of this maybe be in your head?"
"And?"
"And it was. I was totally fine. I've never even been to Mount Vesuvius."
Well, I HAVE been to Mount Vesuvius...okay not really, but we saw it. We saw lots of it! And we talked about it even more. Max was really concerned about lava and the thing exploding. We talked more about that volcano than any of the amazing things we saw in Rome.

On the way to Maiori we went up, up UP the mountains, and then back down, down to the sea. The hillsides were covered in vineyards and lemon trees.
Heading to the beach...only a 2 minute walk but he really worked up a thirst!
The main street in Maiori
 The sand Mt. Vesuvius
 Make it EXPLODE!
Obviously, this happened. Max is just an unknowing prop!
The view from our hotel room. Just ideal.
Ciao!
